St. Mary’s Road REACH, Inc., a non-profit 501C 3 organization, was founded in 2009 to promote, facilitate and implement programs to communities and homes. The organization is defined by it’s mission statement:

​

Through volunteer committees and task forces, and direct efforts, REACH will plan, direct and coordinate initiatives focusing on improving educational opportunities personal growth and development, community beautification, sports and recreation, cultural activities and health awareness.

 

Since 2009, REACH has concentrated in the following areas: Creating a learning environment, Enhancing the home, sustaining the community and Personal growth and Development. The organization has enjoyed success in all areas:

 

1. REACH partnered with the Muscogee County School District for a summer reading program.

 

2. REACH provide students with a cultural enrichment field trip to the Rosa Parks Museum in Montgomery, Alabama.

 

3. REACH worked with New Horizons for an After School Program.

 

4. REACH provided exercise classes for adults and nutritional classes for adolescents.

 

5. REACH has promoted Health Fairs with an “Ask the Doctor” component supported by local physicians.

 

6. REACH initiated a series of educational programs on topics such as Affordable Care, Reverse Mortgages, and Living Wills.

 

7. REACH has worked with The Columbus Urban League to find employment for young people in the community.

 

8. REACH has partnered with Historic Columbus and MidTown, Inc. to coordinate community clean-up programs and to sustain affordable housing in a distressed neighborhood.

 

REACH,Inc. Is led by a volunteer Board of Directors. The members are leaders in the Columbus area and have a history of collaboration and coordination with other community agencies and organizations.

Bible studies, prayer meetings, membership, baptism, and confirmation classes are available by Zoom or teleconference.
